Apple Valley, CA – (VVNG.com): AT & T cellular customers near Town Hall should see an improvement in reception soon when a new cell tower is completed between Town Hall and the Police Station. Doubling as an attractive clock tower, AT & T paid for all construction costs of the 55-ft tower that is expected to be completed by the end of the month.
“Not only did the clock tower not cost the Town a penny to construct, the company will also pay the town more than $26,000 per year for the right to maintain their cellular antennas in the tower,” said Assistant Town Manager Marc Puckett. “The company will pay an initial monthly lease of $2,200 in the first year, with payments increasing by 3% annually for the next 25 years.”
The tower will carry AT & T service at first, but has room for two more cellular service providers, which, if added, would provide additional revenue to the Town. The clock tower will provide an attractive way to improve coverage for increasing wireless service demand.
