Sigal said the project’s mix of national retailers, restaurants, and service businesses demonstrates continued demand for new commercial development in the area. He also pointed to the region’s population growth, housing development, business activity, and access to major transportation corridors as factors driving interest in the project.

Designed by MMA Architecture, Architects Orange, and civil engineering firm Kimley-Horn, Desert Sky Plaza II will be developed as a joint venture between NewMark Merrill Companies, World Premier Investments, and RY Properties Inc.

The development is part of the larger Desert Plazas commercial project near Interstate 15, which currently includes WinCo Foods and Home Depot. When fully built out, the approximately 100-acre development is expected to feature more than 800,000 square feet of retail space.

According to NewMark Merrill, the project’s trade area includes approximately 130,928 potential shoppers and is located within a growth market where more than 22,500 homes have been approved and/or are under development. The company said the area also benefits from more than 31,000 average daily trips on Roy Rogers Drive and more than 90,000 daily trips near Interstate 15.
