BAKER, Calif.(VVNG.com)– Authorities are investigating a crash involving a semi and a minivan that left an elderly man dead.
On Wednesday, December 21st, 2016, at approximately 11:27 am, the CHP Barstow Dispatch Center received a 911 call of a two vehicle collision on northbound Interstate 15, north of Baker CA.
An adult male, driving a truck tractor-trailer combination vehicle, was traveling northbound on Interstate 15, north of Halloran Springs Road, in the #3 lane.
A minivan, being driven by an adult female, was traveling on northbound Interstate 15, in the #2 lane, to the rear of the truck tractor trailer combination vehicle. For unknown reasons, the driver of the minivan allowed the right front of the minivan to collide into the left rear of the truck tractor trailer combination vehicle.
As a result of the collision, the driver of the minivan was transported by Mercy Air to UMC Las Vegas for her injuries.
An elderly male seated in the right front passenger seat of the minivan was pronounced deceased by emergency personnel.
The driver of the truck tractor trailer combination vehicle and the three juvenile passengers of the minivan did not sustain any injuries. Drugs and alcohol are not a factor in this collision.
