Homicide investigation underway after man found dead inside Victorville home

VICTORVILLE, Calif. (VVNG.com) — Residents in a typically quiet Victorville neighborhood were awakened by the sound of gunfire and screaming early Sunday morning.

Just before 2:00 am on July 21, 2019, Victorville deputies responded to the report of shots heard at a residence in the 12900 block of Petaluma Road.

Sheriff’s Spokeswoman Jodi Miller told Victor Valley News that a deceased male was located inside the residence.

Miller said it’s very early in the investigation and no additional information is available for release at this time.

A witness, who did not want to be identified, said her family was awakened by gunshots and then screaming. According to the witness, she heard what sounded like a woman’s voice screaming you killed him!

Detectives from the Specialized Investigations Homicide Detail have responded and are conducting the investigation.

A white Nissan Frontier truck with all four doors wide open is parked outside the residence where the shooting occurred. Crime Scene Investigators could be seen taking photographs around the property early Sunday morning.
