VVNG- I just had an extravagant and sensational visual feast watching Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash come together to stop an alien invasion from destroying Earth. Do you know how happy it makes me to be able to write that? I have been waiting over 50 years for this movie to come out, and all I could think of now is that I am still extremely hungry for more. Now, Is this the best superhero movie ever? No! Does it have flaws? Yes! Why am I asking myself questions? I don’t know… What I do know is that I had a blast experiencing a movie with tons of outstanding action, great humor, and fantastic graphics. Join me, fellow nerds and geeks, and let us bask in the greatness of these magnificent heroes and rejoice in the fact that we live in a time where we now have a Justice League movie that we can watch again and again… and again.
I give Justice League, the “Checky™ Seal of Approval!” This visually spectacular film made me feel like a wee little lad who was enchanted by all of the iconic superheroes teaming up and interacting with each other in a completely entertaining way. There are more than a few things the filmmakers could have done differently to make it an even MORE enjoyable movie. The music could have been louder. The fights could have been in places that were more populated (it didn’t really feel like the League was saving anybody). They could have let every hero showcase their skills individually before putting them all together on-screen. The pace seemed a bit rushed, and I wish there could have been more moments where the league just stood still or walked in slow motion toward the camera so it could have given my body enough time to react and get pumped-up all the way to a level of nerdiness I have yet to experience.
Having said that, I loved all of the fight scenes, the dialogue, the story, the look, the humor, and I’m sure the ladies in the audience are going to love all of the visual eye candy some of the shirtless heroes provide. The entire cast was fantastic. I never felt like I was watching Ben Affleck or Gal Gadot, everyone perfectly portrayed their roles and made me believe I was just watching the actual characters brought to life. There were more than a few times where I got genuinely excited and had goose pimples on my entire body while watching the film. Hopefully, we get lots of sequels, pronto! I feel like a good foundation has now been established for this universe, and if the filmmakers keep the great things about this film and don’t make the same mistakes in their upcoming flicks then DC can look forward to a great future with lots of beloved movies under its belt.
So go ahead and step into an alternate reality, where superheroes exist; and soak in their glorious awesomeness for 2 hours. If you want an adaptation that you can relate to, there are plenty of documentaries you can watch. However, if you want to cheer for these breathtaking superheroes that either look beautiful, powerful, badass, or all of the above, at any given moment, then make sure you unite whoever you want to watch this with and go marvel (get it?) at this fast paced and action packed DC film in theaters.
Note: Make sure that you stay until the end of the credits because there is not just one, but TWO end-credit scenes. Also, I suggest that you watch these following videos if you are not familiar with the origins of the superheroes featured in this film. There is not an origin story for any of these characters. The film expects you to already know their backstories. Click away, so you can enjoy Justice League to the fullest.
Minor Spoiler: I just want to say that my favorite part of the film was when Superman comes back to life. I say minor spoiler because it has been well known that he was going to come back anyway. I LOVED that they finally let him be the strong and invincible Superman that he truly is.
So, what did you think of Justice League? Do you agree or disagree with me? Which flick are you checking out this week? Let me know in the comments below. Have a great day at the movies and don’t forget to save me some popcorn.
Official Synopsis: Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists newfound ally Diana Prince to face an even greater threat. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to recruit a team to stand against this newly awakened enemy. Despite the formation of an unprecedented league of heroes — Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and the Flash — it may be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.
