MOVIE REVIEW: Incredibles 2 Packs a Creatively Hilarious Superhero Punch

VVNG- 14 years ago, when I was straight out of high school and still wore baggy skater pants, my mind was blown while watching what is still my favorite animated movie, The Incredibles. I had lost all hope that we were ever going to get a sequel to the amazing film about a family with superpowers. Well, fast forward to today and, even though I wear boring pants now, I am extremely happy about the fact that I finally got a chance to see more of the super powered clan in this superb sequel that contains laugh out loud humor, insanely creative and intricate action, an interesting story and a group of characters that are as lovable as they are super.

In a world where supers exist but can’t use their powers because it is illegal to do so, one family with superpowers does not want to sit around and do nothing while injustices are occurring all over them. The matriarch of the family, Elastigirl (Holly Hunter), gets an opportunity to fight crime and try to show the world that supers are a necessity not a burden. This leaves the dad, Mr. Incredible (Craig T. Nelson) in charge of taking care of their 3 children (who are also supers) along with all of the household chores. This premise is packed with hysterical situation after hysterical situation of action-packed entertainment.

I give Incredibles 2, the “Checky Seal of Approval!” My dad-joke senses are tingling with the desire to say how INCREDIBLE this film is, but I will resist the temptation to sa…wait… oops… Anyways, if you have been waiting anxiously for this sequel to come out, or if you have never seen the original, or if you like movies in general, or if you require oxygen to live, I am sure you will enjoy this hilarious and action packed, work of art that has something for every member of your family (super or not) to enjoy.

Dash on over to the theater with your whole family (just please don’t let your kiddos run around and scream during the flick) so you can enjoy a spectacular animated film with enough laughs, action, and epicness to hold you off for another 14 years.

Oh and the short film before the movie is adorable and the 3D is worth the extra 2 bucks.

What did you think of The Incredibles 2? Do you agree or disagree with me? Which flick are you checking out this week? Let me know in the comments below. Have a great day at the movies and don’t forget to save me some popcorn.

Official Synopsis: Everyone’s favorite family of superheroes is back in “Incredibles 2” – but this time Helen (voice of Holly Hunter) is in the spotlight, leaving Bob (voice of Craig T. Nelson) at home with Violet (voice of Sarah Vowell) and Dash (voice of Huck Milner) to navigate the day-to-day heroics of “normal” life. It’s a tough transistion for everyone, made tougher by the fact that the family is still unaware of baby Jack-Jack’s emerging superpowers. When a new villain hatches a brilliant and dangerous plot, the family and Frozone (voice of Samuel L. Jackson) must find a way to work together again—which is easier said than done, even when they’re all Incredible.
