Motorcyclist Killed in Main Street Crash in Hesperia

Main Street between I and Peach Avenues is expected to remain closed for several hours.

HESPERIA, Calif. (VVNG.com) A 37-year-old Hesperia man was killed in a motorcycle crash Sunday night.

The accident involving a 2005 Hyundai Accent and a 2005 Honda motorcycle happened around 10:06 p.m. at the intersection of Main Street and Timberlane Avenues in Hesperia.

When deputy’s and firefighters arrived on scene they found the rider down in the roadway unresponsive and suffering from life threatening injuries.

The male rider was transported to Desert Valley Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

According to Sgt. Hubbard with the Hesperia Police Department, it appears the rider was traveling westbound on Main Street and the Hyundai was going eastbound. “The driver of the Hyundai was preparing to turn left on Timberlane Avenue and crashed with the motorcycle,” Hubbard said.

The driver of the Hyundai, a 22-year-old male from Hesperia remained at the scene and fully cooperated with authorities.

Main Street between I and Peach Avenues is expected to remain closed for several hours while the Major Accident Investigation Team processes the scene of the crash.

“The investigation is ongoing, toxicology results are pending from both parties to determine if alcohol or drugs were a factor,” sheriff’s officials said.
