Motorcyclist killed on Highway 138 ID’d as 26-year-old man

PHELAN, Calif. (VVNG.com) Family and friends continue to search for answers days after a young man was killed riding a motorcycle near Phelan.

Evan Guest, 26, of Palmdale, was riding his 2007 Harley Davidson motorcycle on State Route 138 near Ponderosa Road when he went down just after 2:00 p.m., on September 2nd.

According to the California Highway Patrol, Evan’s, was traveling westbound approaching the intersection at an unknown speed. “A second party was stopped at the intersection of SR-138 and Ponderosa Road, waiting to turn southbound onto Ponderosa Road, in a 2005 Chevrolet Express Van,” officials said.

For reasons still under investigation, Evan’s failed to notice the stopped van and applied the brakes before dropping the motorcycle on its side, sliding into the back of the van.

Evan sustained traumatic injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene by first responders.

A Gofundme account launched to help Evan’s family with funeral expenses describes Evan as “a hard working, positive, free spirited man who loved his friends and family immensely”.

In an August 27th post on Evan’s Facebook profile, he shared about his recent purchase of a motorcycle and was ‘stoked’ about riding. Evans was an apprentice lineman with IBEW Local 47.

“Evan left behind a loving family along with a ton of friends who loved him very much,” stated the Gofundme. “The last thing his family needs right now is to worry about funeral expenses.”
