BREAKING: Motorcycle Deputy Involved in Accident on Highway 395

VICTORVILLE:(VVNG.com)- A San Bernardino County Sheriff’s motor-cop was involved in a traffic collision on Highway 395 near Bear Valley Road just after 12:30 P.M., on Monday, April 6, 2015.
According to Sgt. Ken Lutz, a traffic unit working traffic enforcement on Highway 395 saw a violator heading southbound just north of Bear Valley Road, while he was driving northbound. The deputy activated his emergency lights to make a U-turn, from the position of the center yellow line. The vehicle, a silver Chevy Cruze, traveling behind the officer decided to illegally pass on the left and had a collision with the motor-unit.
Traffic on Highway 395 is shut down in both directions between Luna Road and Bear Valley Road. The portion of the roadway is expected to closed for approximately 4 hours.
The officer was transported by ground ambulance to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center with non life threatening injuries, stated Lutz.

This incident marks the third major crash on highway 395 in the past 24 hours.
