Motorcycle Crashes On 15 Freeway and Erupts Into Flames in Cajon Pass

CAJON PASS, Calif. (VVNG.com) — An accident involving a motorcycle occurred on Interstate 15 North, near the State Route 138 interchange Sunday night.

It happened at 8:38 PM, with a report of a motorcycle in flames on the northbound lane, about 1 mile north of the State Route Highway 138 split.

The fire reportedly broke out in the fourth lane, affecting the flow of traffic.

Witnesses initially claimed the motorcycle was traveling at high speeds, estimated to be more than 100 miles per hour, and weaving through lanes.

Early information revealed the motorcyclist lost control and hit another vehicle, ending up in the center divider of the freeway.

According to updates from CHP scanner traffic, the motorcyclist, while unable to move, was conscious and communicative.

CHP Officers reached the site quickly, as reported at 8:43 PM, undertaking efforts to manage the traffic.

The San Bernardino County Fire Department located a vehicle about 200 feet ahead of the crash with rear-end damage, occupied by a female driver.

An ambulance was dispatched to provide immediate transport to the hospital for the injured rider. The individual driving the car did not sustain any injuries.

The California Highway Patrol is investigating this incident. No further updates were immediately available.
