Motorcycle Collides with School Bus Killing One

NEWBERRY SPRINGS-(VVNG.com): A 31-year-old Hispanic male motorcyclist sustained fatal injuries after striking a school bus Tuesday morning at around 7:39 a.m. The Barstow area CHP and medical personnel responded to the traffic collision on Yermo Road near Coyote Lake Road.
The 45-year-old female bus driver was traveling eastbound on Coyote Lake Road in a 2002 Thomas school bus occupied by 6 juveniles. As she proceeded east through the intersection of Coyote Lake Road and Yermo Road, CHP officials said that the right side of the bus was struck by a 2012 Suzuki motorcycle that was traveling northbound on Yermo Road. The motorcyclist was completely under the bus when CHP and rescue personnel arrived.
The motorcyclist was removed from under the bus and pronounced dead at the scene at around 8:11 a.m. per scanner traffic. No other injuries were reported as a result of the collision. Drugs or alcohol are not suspected to be a factor in the collision.
The name of the male will be released when his identification is confirmed and his family is notified of his death.
