Mother and 16-year-old son killed in Apple Valley crash Identified

APPLE VALLEY, CALIF. (VVNG.com) A mother and her son both died as result of a crash that occurred in Apple Valley Tuesday night.

34-year-old Apple Valley resident Jacqueline Contreras, and her 16-year-old son, Ruben Contreras, were traveling northbound on Tamiani Road entering the intersection of Sitting Bull Road when they failed to yield to a white Chevy pickup truck who did not have a stop sign.

The silver Saturn Ion that was driven by Contreras was T-boned as it entered the intersection. The collision forced the car to roll multiple times, landing in a neighbors yard.
