
HESPERIA, Calif. (VVNG.com) A routine traffic stop resulted in the arrest of convicted felon James McGilberry, 40, of Hesperia.
On August 19th at about 11:36 a.m., Mcgilberry was pulled over in the area of Third Avenue and Cashew after blowing through a stop sign, officials said. During the traffic stop, he appeared anxious and was uncooperative.
“After additional units arrived on the scene, Mcgilberry finally cooperated by showing both his hands and exited the vehicle,” stated a sheriff’s news release.
Deputies detained him and located a loaded handgun and illegal narcotics near the driver’s seat.
Due to the circumstances and information obtained, a search warrant was authored for Mcgilberry’s residence in Hesperia. During the search warrant, a large amount of American currency, several different kinds of controlled substances, and another loaded firearm was recovered.
Convicted felon James Mcgilberry, was arrested and booked for transportation of narcotics with the intent to sell, possession of controlled substances while armed, and a convicted felon with a loaded firearm.
Mcgilberry is currently in custody at the High Desert Detention Center and is being held in lieu of $50,000 bail.
