SAN BERNARDINO:(VVNG.com)A diabetic missing man diagnosed with schizophrenia was the victim of a fatal hit and run traffic collision in the city of San Bernardino.
According to a news release, on Friday, July 18, 2014 at approximately 8:00 a.m., deputies responded to an assisted care facility located at 1376 Jasper Avenue in Mentone following the report of a missing person.
Mr. John Preciado was last seen at his residence as he left the location on foot and last seen traveling west on Lugonia past Wabash Avenue toward the city of Redlands. Preciado had reportedly left his residence several times in the past and able to tell people his name and where he lived.
On July 18, 2014, at approximately 8:50 PM, 85 year-old Mentone resident John Preciado was crossing the street in the area of W. Rialto Avenue and G Street in San Bernardino when he was struck by a vehicle. The driver of the vehicle failed to stop. Mr. Preciado was transported to Loma Linda University Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead on 07/19/2014 at 12:53 AM.
