VICTORVILLE, Calif. (VVNG.com) School officials confirmed a bus driver and a student sustained minor injuries following a school bus crash early Monday morning.
The crash involving a Victor Valley Union High School District bus and a black Toyota Tacoma pick-up truck happened at 6:25 a.m., at the intersection of Mojave and Del Rey Drives in Victorville.
According to public information officer Kristopher Reilly, “the bus was carrying six special needs students to Victor Valley High School. As the bus was turning from Del Rey onto Mojave, a vehicle traveling on Mojave hit the front of the bus. According to initial reports, the other motorist is believed to have run a red light.
The Toyota pick-up truck sustained damage, but the driver was uninjured. The bus sustained some damage to the front bumper, tire and front axle.
The driver of the bus complained of minor back pain and is receiving a medical examination. One student on the bus complained of minor shoulder pain, but the parent declined to have the student transported for medical aid,” Rilley said.
The crash is under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.
