APPLE VALLEY:(VVNG.com)- On Sunday, September 6, 2015 deputies responded to a three car traffic collision on Highway 18 and Tao Road in Apple Valley.

At approximately 4:05 p.m., a white Toyota Corolla being driven by Cheyenne Stinson was traveling west on Highway 18 and presumably proceeded through a steady red light at Tao Raod. Stinson’s vehicle struck a white Scion TC, driven by Kimberly Gorham, who was attempting to make a left turn onto Highway 18 from southbound Tao Road. A gray Ford Taurus, driven by Majorie Holland, was waiting to turn left onto Tao Road from east bound Highway 18 in the left hand turn lane. The impact from Stinson’s and Gorham’s vehicle deflected Stinson’s vehicle into Hollands vehicle, which caused a secondary collision.

The collision caused a temporary closure of west bound lanes on Highway 18 until the vehicles could be cleared from the roadway.

Two passengers from Stinson’s vehicle were transported to an area hospital for a complaint of pain. The collision is under investigation, based on statements from witnesses, driver’s and passengers, investigators believe Stinson’s failure to stop at the red light was the cause of the collision.
