ADELANTO, Calif. (news release) — In another sign of economic progress, Adelanto city officials hosted a ribbon-cutting Thursday, October 12 for another project supporting the city’s burgeoning medical cannabis industry.
Located at 10431 Yucca Road, the Goldentree Medical Cannabis Facility will consist of four buildings totaling 50,000 square feet.
“We’re excited to see that this project is more than just a vision, it’s becoming a reality,” said Mayor Richard Kerr, and “we’re thrilled that the owner’s vision is in line with Adelanto’s vision.”
The four buildings are currently under construction with the foundations and framing complete. The ribbon-cutting was held Thursday to showcase the project to throngs of Asian media, project family and friends, and to demonstrate development opportunities in the city of Adelanto.
“As early as February 2018 we expect to be operational with several shifts and have cultivation, manufacturing including extraction for oils, and a kitchen that can produce edibles,” said Franz Chan, Goldentree Founder, and Chairman. Goldentree is a closed-loop industrial company that controls every aspect of the cultivation, extraction, marketing, and distribution of the most pristine medicine for patients. Goldentree will eventually provide product for its 10 dispensaries located in the metro Los Angeles area.
“This project will generate up to $250,000 in taxes each year and the 40 employees to be hired will support the local economy with gas and food purchases whether they shop in Adelanto or elsewhere in the High Desert,” said Mayor Kerr.
