HESPERIA – Assemblyman Jay Obernolte (R-Hesperia) honors Marina Chicca-Wilding from Lucerne Valley Unified School District as his Outstanding Teacher of the Month for the 33rd Assembly District.
Marina has taught in Lucerne Valley for approximately 13 years and has always stepped up to take on additional responsibilities when needed. She serves as the first-grade team lead and she coordinates the lesson planning and implementation of the first-grade curriculum. She also serves as the advisor for the Destination Imagination Teams, which is intended to inspire students to be both innovators and leaders of the future.
In this capacity, she holds practices with teams and coordinates the itinerary for the multiple teams that the school supports. Additionally, Ms. Chicca-Wilding has assumed the position of English Language Learner Coordinator for the district. This is a huge task that has been made more efficient due to Marina’s commitment and dedication to excellence.
“Marina is clearly an asset to Lucerne Valley, playing so many vital roles to help students succeed,” Assemblyman Obernolte said. “She goes above and beyond what is required to be a good teacher and is understandably known as someone who both teachers and students can count on. It is my honor to recognize Marina Chicca-Wilding as my outstanding teacher for the month of September.”
