Man and Woman Arrested For Torturing Young Girl in Adelanto

ADELANTO, Calif. ( An Adelanto man and woman have been arrested for child cruelty charges that nearly caused a young girl her life.

Authorities say the original incident was reported in August of 2016 at a residence in the 18800 block of Dogwood Court in Adelanto. On Monday, March, 20, 2017 Deputy Wendy Perea of the Victor Valley Sheriff’s Station conducted a follow-up.

Kathey Nicole James, 34, and Nicasio Alquisira, 29, suspected the girl of taking a cell phone which led the duo to torturing the juvenile.

“Kathey struck the victim several times in the face and pulled her hair,” described a San Bernardino County Sheriff’s department via a press release.

James reportedly sat the victim in the bathtub while Nicasio held the victims feet and legs. James turned on the water allowing it to run onto the young girls face, stated the Sheriff’s release.

Through Deputy Perea’s investigation it was learned Kathey James and Nicasio Alquisira conspired to commit this act.

All children residing in the home were removed by Children and Family Services.

On Wednesday, March 29, 2017, both Kathey Nicole James and Nicasio Alquisira were arrested and booked into the High Desert Detention Center for conspiracy, torture and false imprisonment. James is currently being held in lieu of $500,000 bail; Alquisira posted bail and was released.
