Man stabbed near Bell Mountain in Apple Valley; suspect remains at large

APPLE VALLEY, Calif. ( — Detectives are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect(s) involved in an attempted murder near Bell Mountain Sunday morning.

On July 22, 2018, at 10:18 a.m., deputies from the Apple Valley Station responded to the 19300 block of Chuparosa Road to investigate a report of a male subject who walked to the reporting parties home and advised someone tried to kill him in the open desert west of Bell Mountain, stated a sheriff’s news release.

When deputies arrived they located the victim, an unidentified Male Adult laying on the sidewalk and suffering from a knife wound.

According to a witness, the victim’s throat was slashed. Witnesses rendered assistance until medical aid arrived.

The subject was transported to the hospital for treatment and later airlifted to an out of area trauma center. The condition of the victim was not known at the time of this release.
