Man Shot on 10 Freeway in Cathedral City

On Saturday, January 4, 2014, about 5:00 PM, deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff Department responded to Desert Regional Hospital in regards to a shooting victim.
The victim, an unidentified 24-year-old black male and resident of Palm Springs suffered a single gunshot.
Detective from the Palm Desert Station responded and assumed the investigation.
The investigation revealed, at approximately 3:40 p.m., the victim was driving westbound on I10 near Date Palm Dr. when the suspect vehicle, described as a white 4-door sedan, drove next to him.
The suspect, a black male, got the attention of the victim and then shot several times.
This is an active and ongoing investigation.
