Man on motorized scooter attempts to rob cashier inside Victorville Walmart

VICTORVILLE, Calif. (VVNG.com) — A man on a motorized scooter attempted to rob a Walmart cashier in Victorville Saturday night.
It happened at about 6:00 pm inside the Walmart Supercenter located in the 12200 block of Palmdale Road on December 21, 2019.
Iris Rodriguez was shopping in the busy store at the time of the incident and said the man used his legs to intentionally ram into people.
“He was chased by security and they got the money he stole, less than 3 seconds later he came back in and ran over people including Walmart employees,” stated Iris. “He had a mask on with a black hoodie and black pants.”
Outside the store, the man was surrounded by security guards who made sure he didn’t getaway.
Sheriff’s spokeswoman Jodi Miller told VVNG this was an attempted robbery and the male on the scooter was not armed. “He was transported to a local hospital for an evaluation as he was acting erratically,” stated Miller.
Additional information will be updated as it becomes available.
