Man killed in Adelanto overnight, suspect detained

ADELANTO, Calif. (VVNG.com) — Homicide detectives are conducting an investigation after a 41-year-old Whittier man was killed overnight in Adelanto.

At about 2:16 am on Friday, July 5, 2019, deputies from the Victor Valley Sheriff’s Station responded to reports of a shooting in the 10600 block of Bonanza Road.

According to a sheriff’s news release, “the reporting party stated a man with blood on him was in front of the residence.”

Upon arrival, deputies located an adult male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound inside the garage. 

First responders arrived and pronounced the unidentified male deceased at the location.

A second male subject located inside the home was detained, however, officials said no arrest had been made and the investigation was ongoing.
