Man Jumps from Bridge in Old Town Victorville Sunday

VICTORVILLE, Calif. (VVNG.com) – Following an incident on Sunday in Old Town Victorville, a man is now in critical condition after he leaped from a bridge.

The incident occurred at approximately 1:00 p.m. on February 25, 2024, at a location on D Street between 11th Avenue and Stoddard Wells Road.

Victorville Fire Department, AMR, and Victorville Deputies were dispatched to the scene after receiving reports of a potential jumper.

On arrival, they found the individual in a critical state near the railroad tracks beneath the bridge connecting Victorville and Apple Valley.

To ensure the safety of the rescue team and the victim, authorities requested a halt to train activity in the vicinity.

The injured man was stabilized at the scene as transport arrangements were made.

A helicopter was called to aid in transporting the victim to a trauma center.

Mercy 2 responded to the transport request.

The man was initially transported by ground ambulance to meet the helicopter at Victor Valley Global Medical Center, where he was then flown to a trauma hospital.

At 1:36 p.m., notifications were made to reopen the railroad.
