HESPERIA, Calif. (VVNG.com) — Sheriff’s officials identified the man found dead along the I-15 freeway as Jose Perez-Arredondo, 25, a resident of Apple Valley.
On Monday, June 3, 2019, just before 11:30 am, deputies from the Victorville Police Department and officers with the California Highway Patrol responded to the I-15 freeway near the Bear Valley Road off-ramp following the report of a deceased male off to the side of the roadway.
Officials arrived and located Jose along the right shoulder face down, with his hands tucked underneath his body near a pool of blood.
Detectives from the Sheriff’s Specialized Investigations Division responded to the location and conducted the investigation that lasted as the sunset.
Sheriff’s spokeswoman Cindy Bachman told VVNG the incident was ruled a death investigation and not a homicide.
Jose’s sister, Janet Perez, created a Gofundme account to help their family with funeral expenses.
“I received the devastating news that my loving, giving, and generous brother lost his life. Not only was he generous to his own family, but also to anyone that crossed his path. He was and will continue to be an amazing and humble man. Any amount of donation will help my family and I with the funeral expenses. God bless and thank you very much,” stated Janet in the account description.
