ADELANTO, Calif. (VVNG.com) — Authorities are continuing to search for a man who fled the scene after crashing through a fence and then reversed into a house Saturday morning.
It happened at about 11:23 a.m. on the 11600 block of Villa Street in Adelanto near Wisteria Street.
Deputies from the Victor Valley Sheriffs Station responded and located a silver Chevy Silverado that had partially crashed into the rear of the home.
“We were sitting at the table and noticed the truck screeching towards us right before it crashed through the fence,” the resident of the home told Victor Valley News.
“My husband ran outside to check on the driver who was starting to reverse, by the time he got outside the driver was reversing and crashed into the room where my sewing machine is kept,” said the resident.
The suspect, described as a Hispanic male adult in his mid-thirties, was said to have stumbled out of the truck and fled on foot southbound on Wisteria Street and then eastbound on Azalea Drive.
According to the renter of the home, the suspect had a strong smell of alcohol.
Authorities went to a nearby home where the vehicle was registered to but did not locate the suspect.
No injuries were reported and anyone with information is asked to contact the Victor Valley Sheriff’s Station at (760)552-6800.
