Victim Faces Possible Charges Following Hesperia Home Invasion

HESPERIA-(VVNG.com): On Tuesday, June 23, 2015 at approximately 12:39 A.M. dispatch received a report of a woman allegedly kidnapped near Choiceana Avenue and Benicia Street in Hesperia.

The reporting party, who was also a victim, said that the suspects broke down his door, beat him, brandished a 9mm handgun and left taking his girlfriend in a dark-colored 4-door truck.

When deputies from the Hesperia Sheriff’s Station arrived at the home they made contact with the male victim, 28-year-old Hesperia resident Jonathan Borrego, who was suffering from several injuries including two broken arms and major lacerations to his head and face. He was transported to Desert Valley Medical Center for treatment.

After a search for the missing woman, she was located at an out of area hospital at 9:45 A.M., through investigation it was determined that for unknown reasons, three unknown males forced their way into the victims’ home and assaulted Borrego with a bat and reportedly held a gun to his head.

The 33-year-old female (whose name is being withheld) was forced outside of the home, but due to conflicting statements, detectives are unable to determine if a kidnapping did in fact occur.  It does not appear that the suspects took any property from the home of the victim.

The female was being treated at the hospital for injuries, including bruising, lacerations and a broken jaw that were reportedly inflicted by her boyfriend, Jonathan Borrego over the previous few days. Detectives are submitting domestic abuse charges on Jonathan Borrego for review by the District Attorney’s office.

The Hesperia Sheriff’s Station is asking for the public’s help. If you have information pertaining to these crimes, please contact Detective Waterhouse at 760-947-1500 or remain anonymous by calling WE TIP at 800-78-CRIME.
