Man driving stolen Honda arrested in Old Town Victorville

VICTORVILLE, Calif. (VVNG.com) — An Apple Valley deputy arrested a 32-year-old man driving in a reported stolen vehicle Sunday night.
The suspect, Matthew Dale Yates, was arrested at about 8:00 pm on January 26, 2020, in the old town area of Victorville.
A deputy traveling through the area spotted the vehicle, a white 1991 Honda Civic and initiated a traffic stop near First and D Street. The vehicle pulled into the ampm at the corner of 7th and D Streets and the driver was taken into custody without incident.
According to jail records, Yates was booked at High Desert Detention Center and charged with PC496D(A) Possession of a Stolen Vehicle and is being held on a $50,000 bail.
He is scheduled for arraignment in a Victorville courtroom on January 28, 2020.
