APPLE VALLEY-(VVNG.com): San Bernardino County Sheriff deputies and Medical Aid responded to the 18000 block of Taloga Road in Apple Valley on Saturday night for a stabbing. Upon arrival, they found a man that was stabbed in the neck, who was not breathing. Medical Personnel administered CPR, and the patient was transported to St. Mary’s Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
During the investigation, detectives identified 30-year-old transient, Laurence Caureliola Mixon as the suspect responsible for the murder of 30-year-old, Brandon Huff. Mixon fled the scene prior to the deputies arrival. On Monday, February 1, 2016, at approximately 9:00 a.m., detectives developed information that Mixon was in a vehicle driving east on Interstate 70 near Richfield, Utah. Detectives contacted the Utah Highway Patrol and requested their assistance in checking the area for Mixon and the vehicle he was in.
At approximately 9:40 a.m., troopers from the Utah Highway Patrol, located Mixon driving east on Interstate 70, neaRichfield. Detectives from the Sheriff’s Homicide Detail immediately responded to Richfield to speak with Mixon and two other occupants in the vehicle.
Following the detectives investigation, Mixon was booked into Sevier County Jail in Richfield on a warrant for his arrest for murder. Mixon is scheduled to appear in court in Sevier County, next Tuesday, for a hearing related to his extradition back to San Bernardino County.
