
VICTORVILLE, Calif. (VVNG.com) Authorities launched a death investigation after a man collapsed and died in a busy fast-food parking lot Friday afternoon.
At 1:18 p.m. Victorville deputies responded to the report of a subject causing a disturbance outside the Del Taco in the 15400 block of Palmdale Road.
According to sheriff’s officials, the subject, later identified as 32-year-old Clifford Earl Brown, of Hesperia, was reportedly acting aggressive and asking customers for money.
Witnesses said Brown was acting strangely near the drive-thru and had a seizure prior to collapsing.
“Deputies arrived within minutes and recognized Brown was experiencing a medical emergency. Medical aid was summoned as the deputies spoke to Brown and attempted to calm him down,” stated the release.
Deputies and paramedics rendered medical aid on Brown, however, despite lifesaving efforts, Brown was pronounced deceased at a local hospital at 2:19 p.m.
The Sheriff’s Specialized Investigations Division responded and assumed the investigation.
Officials have not announced if the man died of natural causes or if drugs/alcohol were a factor.
