
ADELANTO, Calif:(VVNG.com)– A 37-year-old Adelanto man is behind bars after intentionally starting a fire inside of a residence occupied by children and adults, authorities said.
At about 6:31 p.m. on Wednesday, November 30th deputies were dispatched to a report of a fire at a residence on the 11100 block of Blue Mesa Avenue in Adelanto.
Upon returning to the residence, the homeowner discovered the house full of smoke. Deputy Lauren Abernathy responded to the location and found all residents had been evacuated.
Deputy Abernathy found the suspect, Eduardo Munoz, inside the residence and learned he had started fires in the residence while the occupants were at home.
Deputy Abernathy’s investigation found burn marks throughout the residence and damage to appliances and furniture. There is a current restraining order in place, prohibiting the suspect from being at the residence.
Eduard Munoz was arrested and transported to High Desert Detention Center for housing where he is being held in lieu of $25,000 bail. On December 1, 2016 the Victorville District Attorney’s Office filed charges of cruelty to a child, setting a fire, vandalism and being under the influence of a controlled substance against Munoz.
