Man Arrested After Hesperia Foot Pursuit

HESPERIA-(VVNG.com):  A 35-year-old Hesperia man was arrested after leading deputies on a foot pursuit near Timberlane Avenue and Live Oak Street late Wednesday morning. The initial report was made at around 11:20 a.m. when the reporting party called to report suspicious circumstances consistent with a possible burglary.

When deputies attempted to make contact with the suspect, later identified as Christopher Hart, he fled on foot through the adjoining neighborhood. A deputy chased the suspect but lost visual. Deputies set up a perimeter in the area and conducted an extensive area check with the assistance of the Sheriff’s helicopter.

Hart was located on the 9300 block of Buckthorn Avenue at around 12:00 p.m., where he was detained without further incident. Upon investigation deputies learned that Hart ran from the deputies because he thought that he was wanted for an outstanding warrant, Hesperia Sheriff’s Station spokeswoman Karen Hunt said.

It was determined that he was not wanted on a warrant but Hart was arrested for resisting arrest and possession of methamphetamine. Hart was cited and released. At this time, he has no appearances scheduled for this incident, although he is scheduled to appear in court Monday afternoon for an unrelated probation violation.
