Man and woman dead after double shooting in Apple Valley

UPDATE 6/4 @ 1:00 PM – Sheriff’s officials released the names of the man and woman found deceased inside an Apple Valley home. The victim was identified as Mary Donley, 49, and the suspect as Brian O’ Connell, 48, both residents of Apple Valley. Officials also confirmed this was a murder-suicide and the motive for the shooting is under investigation. Investigators also said they are not looking for any outstanding suspects and no additional information is available for release at this time.

APPLE VALLEY, Calif. (VVNG.com) Homicide Detectives are investigating a shooting inside an Apple Valley home that left a man and a woman dead in what appears to be a murder-suicide, officials said.

It happened at about 10:50 p.m. in the 19600 block of Tonkawan Road, Sunday, June 3, 2018.

According to officials, they responded to the residence and located a male and a female both suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Deputies and emergency personnel with the Apple Valley Fire Protection District responded and located a man deceased in the home and a woman in critical condition.

The woman was airlifted to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center where she succumbed to her injuries just after midnight.

A man, who did not want to be identified, told Victor Valley News that he was speaking with the female victim when he heard her scream.

“She was on the phone with me and she started screaming. We were talking and she started screaming her power went off, and she started screaming,” said the man in disbelief.

A “for sale” sign was posted on the front lawn of the home and a local listing site confirms the home was listed for sale on May 21, 2018.

Authorities have not released any additional information at this time.
