HESPERIA, Calif. (VVNG.com) — A man with serious injuries was airlifted following a head-on crash in Hesperia Tuesday night on Caliente Road, just south of Ranchero Road.
The crash was reported at about 8:00 p.m. and involved a black Mercedes-Benz and a Kia sedan, both of which sustained major front-end damage as a result of the collision.
First responders requested the use of the San Bernardino County’s Fire helicopter (H325) to transport the male driver of the silver sedan to an out-of-area trauma center. The female driver of the Mercedes was transported to a local hospital with less severe injuries.
During the course of the investigation, Hesperia Sheriff’s Deputies located an opened bottle of liquor and a handgun inside a backpack that was in the silver sedan.
Deputies at the scene declined to provide comment on whether drugs or alcohol were suspected of being a contributing factor in the crash.
“There’s no information I can provide at this time, there will be a press release issued tomorrow, on this incident” stated a Hesperia Sheriff’s Deputy.
