Man airlifted after Apple Valley Police find him shot in the head

APPLE VALLEY, Calif. (VVNG.com) – A man was airlifted to a trauma center after Apple Valley police found him with a gunshot wound to his head Thursday morning.

It happened in the 13800 block if Kiowa Road at about 10:50 am, when sheriff’s deputies responded to a residence reference a husband who was shot in the head, scanner traffic reported.

When police arrived, they found a 47-year-old Hispanic male suffering from a gunshot wound to his head lying on a sidewalk near the front door of the home. The male was reportedly conscious and was airlifted to an out of area trauma center.

Sheriff’s officials haven’t provided details on where the shooting occurred or if they are actively searching for any suspects.

The investigation is ongoing and information will be updated as it becomes available.
