Man airlifted after falling from bicycle Wednesday night in Hesperia

HESPERIA, Calif. ( — A man in his late 50’s was airlifted to a trauma center after he fell off his bicycle Wednesday night.

It happened at about 8:00 pm, in the 8000 block of Lake Arrowhead Road between Centennial and Sutter Streets in Hesperia.

Officials said the man was riding a bicycle without a helmet when for unknown reasons he fell from the bike and sustained potential head trauma.

Nikki Nicole said she was driving by and saw a few vehicles with their hazard light on and decided to stop and help the man who appeared to be unresponsive. Nicole said she performed CPR on the man until paramedics arrived and transported him to the football field at Sultana High School.

“It was a Hispanic Male wearing blue jeans and some sort of bright shirt,” stated Nicole.

County Fire helicopter h325 was requested to airlift the patient to Arrowhead Regional Medica Center. The man’s condition remains unknown as of Wednesday night.

Alcohol is suspected to be a contributing factor in the man’s accident.
