NEWBERRY SPRINGS, Calif. (VVNG.com) Mark James Wilson, 41, of Newberry Springs was arrested for attempted kidnapping and carjacking of a woman, authorities said.
Wilson and a woman were reported to be fighting in the parking lot of the Yermo Chevron gas station in the 35000 block of Ghost Town Road on August 10th.
“The reporting party told dispatch, Wilson tried to force the victim into the vehicle. Wilson was observed hitting the victim several times and pulled her hair, then fled the gas station in the victim’s vehicle,” authorities stated in a press release.
The victim, a 64-year-old woman from Newberry Springs, was transported to a local hospital for treatment of ‘visible injuries’, officials said.
Wilson fled the scene prior to deputies arrival, however, he was later found at his residence in the 44000 block of Temescal Street.
He was taken into custody without incident and booked at the High Desert Detention Center for kidnapping, carjacking, and violation of parole. Wilson is being held without bail and is scheduled for arraignment on August 14th in a Victorville court room.
Authorities said the victim’s stolen vehicle was located and returned to her.
