Male Airlifted Following Crash in Victorville

VICTORVILLE, CALIF:(VVNG.com)- A man was airlifted to a trauma hospital after a single vehicle crash on Wednesday evening. The crash was reported at about 5:50 P.M., on December 30th 2015.
The vehicle, a GMC Envoy was traveling southbound on Amethyst Road entering the intersection at Dos Palmas. Deputies believe the driver was distracted eating food, ultimately causing the vehicle to leave the roadway and jump the curb. The vehicle crashed through a chained link fence before coming to rest in a drainage ditch, approximately 50 feet from the roadway.
The driver, and sole occupant in the vehicle sustained non life threatening injuries. He was transported by ground ambulance to Liberty Park and as a precaution airlifted to a trauma hospital with undisclosed injuries.
