Major injury traffic collision in Hesperia

Deputies from the Hesperia Police Department investigate a major injury traffic collision that occurred on April 21, 2013.
On April 21, 2013 at about 5:55 p.m., Deputies from the Hesperia Station along with rescue personnel from the San Bernardino County Fire Department responded to a report of a single vehicle traffic collision in the area of Arrowhead Lake Rd. and Calpella Ave. in Hesperia. It was reported that the single vehicle, motorcycle collision had occurred at that location and that the rider involved was suffering from serious injuries. Deputies arrived on scene and discovered that the male driver, Paul Nelson, had been traveling on Arrowhead Lake Rd. at an undetermined speed, when he lost control of his 2005 Harley Davidson, causing the collision.
Rescue personnel treated Nelson while on scene for major injuries including a head injury and he was transported to Loma Linda Medical Center by air for further treatment.
The cause of the collision is under investigation by deputies from the Hesperia Station and Mr. Nelson remains in the hospital with serious injuries. No other vehicles were involved.
