PHELAN, Calif. (VVNG.com) — A traffic collision on Wednesday night resulted in one fatality.
The crash occurred at approximately 6:25 p.m. on December 18, 2024, along Palmdale Road (State Route 18), just west of Ancanthus Street in the unincorporated community of Phelan, San Bernardino County.
The California Highway Patrol logs indicate that the incident involved a white Toyota Camry, a gray GMC Yukon, and a black 2023 Ford Bronco.

Although reports mentioned that four vehicles were involved, details about the fourth vehicle remain unclear.
Upon arrival, the San Bernardino County Fire Department found one person with severe injuries requiring immediate medical attention.
While emergency crews initially requested a helicopter for transport, this request was later rescinded, and the injured individual was taken by ground ambulance to Victor Valley Global Medical Center.
Scanner traffic confirmed that CPR was being administered during the transport. However, despite life-saving measures, the person succumbed to their injuries.

The crash blocked all east and westbound lanes of SR-18, necessitating a closure as authorities conducted their investigation. The cause of the collision is currently under review by the CHP’s Victorville office.

Authorities performed a field sobriety test on the male adult operating the Bronco, and following the test, the man was placed in handcuffs.
No further details were immediately available.
