Lucerne Valley Man Pleads Not Guilty to the Murder of his Brother

LUCERNE VALLEY-(VVNG.com): A Lucerne Valley man was in court on Tuesday, July 28, 2015 for an arraignment hearing for the alleged murder of his brother in their shared home in the 33200 block of Crescent Road.
Leroy Jerome Franks was enabled a short break from his jail cell at the West Valley Detention Center to appeared at the Victorville Superior court where he plead not guilty.
On July 16, 2015 authorities arrived to the home in reference to a 911 call reporting that a 54-year-old man was injured. Upon arrival just before 6:00 a.m. they located Alvin Earl Hanner deceased at the location laying in a pool of blood with the apparent cause of death believed to be blunt force trauma.
The Sheriff’s Homicide Detail assumed the investigation due to the circumstances and information gathered surrounding the death. Through investigation it was learned that Frank’s assaulted Hanner inside the home then notified the neighbor of the occurrence. Franks was arrested on Thursday, July 16th at about 1:30 p.m and is being held on $1 million bail. Franks is due back in court on August 3, 2015 for a pre-preliminary hearing.
