
LUCERNE VALLEY-(VVNG.com): A Lucerne Valley man has been arrested in connection with the murder of his brother in their Lucerne Valley home on Thursday, July 16th at approximately 5:59 a.m.
San Bernardino County deputies assigned to Lucerne Valley were called to a residence in the 22300 block of Crescent Road in reference to a male, identified as 54-year-old Alvin Earl Hanner injured at the location.
Upon arrival at the home, deputies found Hanner deceased at the location suffering from significant physical trauma. According to scanner traffic there was a large amount of blood on scene and the victim had obvious blunt force trauma to his head.
The Sheriff’s Homicide detail was requested at the location to assume the investigation. Investigators learned that Leroy Jerome Franks, 60 was living in the home with Hanner, who was his brother.
According to a nearby resident, Franks assaulted Hanner inside the home then notified the resident what occurred following the assault. The exact cause of death is pending autopsy. Franks was arrested on Thursday, July 16th at about 1:30 p.m. and was booked into the High Desert Detention Center in Adelanto for the murder of Hanner. Jail records show that Franks is now at the West Valley Detention Center and is being held with no bail at this time. He is scheduled to appear in court on Monday, July 20th.
