Lucerne Valley man arrested for burglary after returning to scene of crime

LUCERNE VALLEY, Calif. (VVNG.com) — A 31-year-old Lucerne Valley man was arrested for vehicle burglary after returning to the scene of the crime, officials said.

It happened on June 3, 2019, when deputies first responded to the 11500 block of Lincoln Road in Lucerne Valley reference a vehicle burglary.

According to a sheriff’s news release, “the victim’s vehicle was parked in front of his residence when someone smashed out the back window and took all his belongings.”

Officials said deputies completed a police report for the crime; however, no suspects were seen in the area and no arrests were made.

“Later the same evening, the victim called 911 when he located and detained a man, later identified as Caesar Garcia, in a motorhome parked on his property,” stated the release.

Deputies arrived and arrested Garcia without incident. Garcia was found in possession of items stolen from the victim’s vehicle earlier in the day and had returned to the property to steal more items.
