Lovingood announces $10,000 for SHOCK youth program

APPLE VALLEY, Calif. (VVNG.com) — As 16 Apple Valley students graduated from the Sheriff’s SHOCK youth program, Supervisor Lovingood announced $10,000 in funding for the successful program.
Graduates spoke about how the program gave them direction, helped instill self-discipline and respect for others.
The program includes a training component for parents. The SHOCK program is a juvenile intervention program for youth between the ages of 12 and 17.
It was designed to combat the negative influences facing today’s youth in society. These influences include drugs, gangs, teenage pregnancy, communication issues with peers and parents, and self-respect.
