Lost MicroSD Card at Lake Arrowhead Grocery Store Leads Deputies to Massive Child Sexual Abuse Image Collection
LAKE ARROWHEAD, Calif. (VVNG.com) — A 40-year-old Lake Arrowhead man was arrested Wednesday after a MicroSD card he allegedly dropped inside a local grocery store led investigators to discover hundreds of thousands of child pornography images and videos.
The investigation began in June 2026 when surveillance video at a Stater Bros. grocery store captured Adam James Quinn dropping a MicroSD card while shopping. A store employee found the card and turned it over to law enforcement.
According to the sheriff’s department, deputies examined the MicroSD card and discovered thousands of digital media files depicting child pornography. Investigators said the card contained both real and artificial intelligence-generated images of infants and juveniles engaged in sexually explicit acts. Authorities also said media stored on the card linked Quinn to its ownership.
Based on the findings, investigators obtained and served a search warrant at Quinn’s Lake Arrowhead residence. During the search, deputies seized Quinn’s cellphone, multiple computers, laptops, flash drives, hard drives and additional MicroSD cards.
According to the written statement, investigators reviewed the electronic devices and found hundreds of thousands of images and videos containing child pornography.
Quinn was present during the search, and investigators determined the MicroSD card recovered from the grocery store, along with the additional child pornography found at his residence, belonged to him.
On Wednesday, July 15, Quinn was arrested at his residence and booked into the Central Detention Center on suspicion of violating California Penal Code 311.11(a), possession of child pornography.
Detectives believe there may be additional information related to Quinn and have released his booking photograph. Anyone with information related to the investigation is asked to contact Deputy T. Bolin of the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department at 909-848-7947.
