APPLE VALLEY, Calif. (VVNG.com) — A 24-year-old Apple Valley man employed at a local elementary school as a proctor was arrested for allegedly molesting a 10-year-old female family member, officials said.
The investigation into alleged claims of lewd and lascivious acts with a child under the age of 14-years against the suspect, Dominique Samson Butler began on December 13th.
According to a sheriff’s news release, Butler is employed as a proctor at Lomitas Elementary School on 1st Avenue in Victorville and has since been placed on administrative leave.
“Through his investigation, Deputy Clancy learned the suspect, Dominique Butler, molested a 10-year-old family member,” stated the news release.
Deputies authored an arrest warrant for Butler after initial efforts to locate him were unsuccessful. On Monday, December 17th Apple Valley Police Detectives V. Lopez and F. Arreola, located and arrested Butler at his father’s residence in the 500
Butler was booked at High Desert Detention Center and bail is set at $250,000. He is expected to be arraigned on Wednesday, December 19th in Victorville Superior Court.
The Victor Elementary School District released the following regarding the arrest of Butler for sexual assault.
Although law enforcement believes this to be an isolated incident, the district and the investigators are requesting the public’s help to determine if there were any other victims.
