Local MMA Fighter Arrested on Burglary Charges

LUCERNE VALLEY:( A well-known professional fighter with a promising career appeared in court for burglary charges on Thursday, July 7th.

Luis Robert Trei Cruz, 26, a resident of Lucerne Valley was arrested along with two other people on Monday, June 27th, 2016, on the 10600 block of Meridian in Lucerne Valley at 6:26 p.m.

Cruz was booked into the High Desert Detention Center in Victorville with a bail set at $125,000.

The two others arrested were, Corey Aaron Labenske, 28 and Jimmie Michelle Goldsworth, 29 also for burglary and an additional charge of suspicion of possessing drugs for sale or transport, also a felony, both bails were set for $75,000.

In 2011 Cruz was given “the knockout of the year” award and “newcomer of the year award” from with a 3 to 0 record in his first year as a mixed martial arts fighter.

Cruz and Labenske are currently being held at the Adelanto correctional facility with the female being held at West Valley Detention Center. Cruz pled not guilty and his next court date is set for Wednesday, August 3rd at 8:30 a.m.
