APPLE VALLEY, Calif. (VVNG.com) — Twinkling lights and picture-perfect memories can be found at Steve Sebell’s light display located at his home in Apple Valley.
Sebell is the proud owner of the display and has been decorating his home(s) since he won a youth decorating competition in 1968.
Though the display does not have an official name, many have come to hear of it through word of mouth.
Sebell moved to the High Desert three years ago from Riverside and has been doing the display every year since.
“I never used to do much, but since we have a huge front yard, I just kept adding to it.” Said Sebell.
With so many lights and details added, it usually takes Sebell up to a month to fully set up the display give or take the weather conditions.
“We try to change it a little each year. This year we added more trees and lights, of course.” Said Sebell.
In addition to the outdoor display, Sebell also sets up model trains in his garage with a Christmas theme for spectators to see as well.
“I like for people to see [the display], and they seem thankful we put all that work into it.” Said Sebell regarding what keeps him doing it year after year.
The lights are on nightly starting from dusk till around 10:00 p.m., and there is planning for a family night this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday between 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.
The home and light display are located at 20365 Rancherias Rd, Apple Valley, Ca, on a corner lot.
