Liberty Utilities Employees Raise More Than $8,300 For Local United Way Chapter

APPLE VALLEY, CA, – On November 22, 2016, Liberty Utilities Apple Valley announced that its employees raised $8,309 for the United Way’s Inland Empire chapter, supporting its efforts to create long-lasting change for those most in need.

“I’m very proud of our team at Liberty Utilities for its dedication to the Apple Valley community,” said Tony Penna, Vice President and General Manager of Liberty Utilities Apple Valley. “We set a goal of raising $8,000 for the United Way, and through the generosity and hard work of our staff we were able to surpass that goal. Our entire team is committed to being a valued community partner in Apple Valley, and we are hopeful this contribution will help the United Way continue the great work that it does throughout our region.”

Liberty Utilities employees raised funds throughout the year via online contributions, fundraising challenges and bake sales. Each and every employee contributed to the fundraising effort.

“Liberty Utilities employees are committed to giving back to the community we serve. We are Apple Valley’s water service provider, but we also live here, and we’re proud of the impact this donation will make to help our neighbors who need an extra hand,” said Kristin Davenport, Business Administration Manager for Liberty Utilities Apple Valley. “The United Way does so much good in the region, helping to improve the lives and futures of the underserved by investing in education, health and financial stability. Most recently the charity stepped up to help the region get back on its feet in the wake of recent wildfires. We are happy to support such an important organization in our community.”

Liberty Utilities encourages anybody wishing to contribute to the United Way to make an online donation at www.ieuw.org/give or call the local chapter at 760-242-5370.
