Lancaster Man Sentenced for Animal Abuse on Pit Bull Puppy

 

LANCASTER:(VVNG.com)- On August 8th, the defendant, 54-year-old Robert Emmett Martin of Lancaster was captured on video body slamming and punching his six month old Pit Bull mix, Daisy on East Lancaster Boulevard.

During his September 10th hearing, Martin entered a no contest plea for the one felony count of cruelty to an animal. Los Angeles County Superior Judge Charles Chung of the Antelope Valley Branch immediately sentenced Martin to five years probation, 90 days of community service and 24 animal cruelty prevention classes.  Martin is also prohibited from having any animal for 10 years.

A restitution hearing is scheduled for October 2nd in Department A20. Deputy District Attorney Lyle Riggs prosecuted the case. The case was investigated by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, Lancaster Station
